With humour, HeHe (Heiko Hansen and Helen Evans) reinvent our ongoing technological adventures; from the transformation of energy, emissions, intoxication, rail infrastructures to electronically mediated systems of control.

Their concept of reverse cultural engineering and the idea of aesthetising emission clouds in real time provides a theoretical framework for their installations on transportation (Train Project) and pollution (Nuage Vert, Champs d’Ozone).

Working independently, HeHe bring theatre, engineering and design to their art practice and collaborate with individuals from a diverse range of disciplines and interests.

Train Project

HeHe is presenting the “Train Project” (2003 – ongoing), consisting of various site specific urban interventions on rail tracks in Europe and abroad. The Train Project is a collage of technological research, popular iconography and cultural history to de-construct the architecture and the infrastructure of the railway machine ensemble.

Nuage Vert à Ivry. Green Cloud is a city scale art project which uses the vapour emissions of a power plant chimney as a projection surface, adding a second level reading to a site which is both visible and ignored : a household waste incinerator. Project started in september 2008, realisation due in early 2010.
