The vinyl arcade is an large scale interactive installation by Lucas Abela combining sound art, sculpture, video art, new media and competitive sports into every kid and kidult’s dream-hybrid; into a video game played within a real world setting!

Imagine racing remote control cars with styli attached to their chassis over a track constructed from a mass of disused vinyl records, while not only controlling the movements of the vehicles, but also the parameters of the resulting sounds they create, using custom audio effects built into the dash by Hirofumi Uchino, from Last Gasp Laboratories.
